"Painted Moments" is a collection of portrait, still life and scenery by painter Susan O'Donnell. O'Donnell's paintings are incredibly life-like, capturing touching human moments and beautiful scenes, seemingly freezing them in time.
O’Donnell has always loved to paint, and she studied art in Canada and her native Hungary during her formative years. Although she has done work in oil, acrylic, photography and many other mediums, she finds the most satisfaction in creating oil portraits.
“I’ve done just about everything, but I love to do portraits because I like to capture the personality,” says O’Donnell. “The personality is not always in the face. It could be in the hand, or the posture.”
“Painted Moments” opens Monday, August 30 and is on display until Friday, September 17. Susan O’Donnell will host an opening reception on Saturday, September 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Artists on Elgin is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
