Artists on Elgin is honored to host an exhibit by local mixed media artist Danielle Fraser. The exhibit, titled “A Room of Her Own”, will be the first solo show by the artist, who started painting in 2010.

“The show is a collection of women and words inspired by Virginia Woolf’s “A Room of One’s Own,” says Danielle of her first solo exhibit. “It is a journey through the world of mixed media paintings, illuminating what is possible within a physical and figurative feminine space.”

Danielle used to wear her “teacher’s clothes” to work, where she inspired the next generation to follow their dreams and believe in the impossible. In early 2010 she decided to face her fears and take her own advice, dedicating herself to her art full-time. Her art is a unique mix of painting and collage inspired by the journey of the soul, the dreams in the pockets of our hearts, and the struggles that we endure and overcome.
