Twenty local artists took a walk along Junction Creek in Sudbury, Ontario. Their motivation and inspiration is derived from their desire to commune with nature and to bring public awareness of this local environmental cause.
The Junction Creek Waterway is part of a park and runs directly through the Greater City of Sudbury. It is part of a network of trails the wind through the heart of Sudbury.
For the month of June, 20 peices of art from Sudbury Art Club members : Bonnie Halley, Liz Peekstock, Alison Story, Marlies Schoenefeld, Joan Chivot, Kim McKibbon, Jan Browning, Barbara Armstrong- Quinn, Elizabeth Holmes, Gwen Cerutti and Carmen Martolrella will be exhibited at Artists on Elgin.
On the exhibition's opening night, Thursday June 4th, AoE will be featuring a special guest speaker, Carrie Regenstreif from the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee.
We hope that all Sudbury residents and visitors will attend this great event that celebrates our city’s beauty and help raise awareness of the importance of protecting and restoring our aquatic jewels.

The Northern Artist Gallery is holding the "Picture Our Lakes" Photography Contest focusing on the 330 lakes in the Greater City of Sudbury. The project is intended to change outside perspectives of Sudbury as an industrial wasteland. The public is asked to submit their best photographs of lakes and waterbodies in the area.
